Chocolate Baked Oats

Ingredients

  • ½ tsp butter

  • 90g porridge / oats

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp cacao

  • 1 egg

  • 175ml milk

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp almond butter

  • 3 tbsp flaxseeds

Optional Toppings:

  • 1 banana, sliced

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

  • 10g grated dark chocolate

Serving suggestion:

  • 1 tbsp full-fat Greek yoghurt per serving

  • A few strawberries, halved

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180-degrees fan and grease a baking dish with butter.

  2. Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl.

  3. In an additional bowl, add all the wet ingredients and whisk.

  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together and fold in the flaxseeds.

  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and scatter the toppings on top.

  6. Bake for around 45 minutes.

  7. Take out, allow to cool and then slice.

  8. Serve warm or cold, with extra fruit or a spoonful of Greek yoghurt.

Top Tip

The recipe makes 3 portions. The remainder can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
