Episode 11 - 4 Ways To Unlock More Compassion In Your Life
In episode 11 of The We Are Wellbeing Podcast:
I had an enlightening conversation with Dr. Elizabeth Chamberlain, a Clinical Psychologist and a passionate advocate for self-compassion.
In this episode we discussed the following:
What does self compassion mean?
Elements of compassion - what compassion consists of and how to take actionable steps to improve compassion.
Challenges in practising self-compassion - why many struggle with compassion and the importance of nurturing a kind internal dialogue rather than a harsh, critical one.
The three flows of compassion - what are the three flows of compassion and the generational differences in these flows.
Practical tips for enhancing compassion - what are the practical advice for integrating compassionate practices into daily life, including mindful presence and positive self-talk.
Dr. Elizabeth Chamberlain is the Lead Clinical Psychologist for the NHS Perinatal Mental Health team, where she supports individuals facing moderate to severe mental health challenges during pregnancy and the first two years of parenthood.

Libby’s academic journey includes earning her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Lancaster University from 2007 to 2010, where she now contributes to training the next generation of clinical psychologists.
