Beef Pasta in Soy Sauce (HC)
Ingredients
60g (1 cup) (2 oz) wholewheat pasta
1 small beef sirloin steak (approx. 120g (4 oz))
1 tsp olive oil
2 tbsp (1.5 Aus tbsp – 30ml) soy sauce, reduced sodium
½ garlic clove
2 spring onions (scallions, green onions)
½ stock cube, low sodium
4 tbsp (3 Aus tbsp – 60ml) green beans
Instructions:
Cook the pasta according to instructions on the pack. Cut the beef into thin slices.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium- high heat and cook the beef for about 3 minutes, then transfer onto a plate and drizzle with soy sauce.
Add the sliced garlic and spring onions (scallions, green onions) to the same pan and cook for about 3 minutes, until spring onions (scallions, green onions) start to soften.
Return the beef and soy sauce into the pan and crumble in ½ stock cube (if can’t crumble stock cube, add to a bit of hot water, allow to dissolve then add to pan) add the beans.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then add the cooked pasta (if using), stir now and then allow to simmer for about 2 minutes.
Taste test and then serve.
